A few words about
OUR MISSION
Our mISSION
Our Mission is to ensure menstrual products become more accessible to every school girl.
In the 21st centaury era education has become the most basic need for any human being.
It therefore becomes completely unfair for any individual whatsoever to miss out on that opportunity.
As #sakiforchage we intend to create awareness and normalize menstruation to the youth especially men.
Men need to get over the stigma that menstruation is gross, dirty, a women’s only issue, or something that emasculates them.
Education
2002 was the first year Kenya was able to roll out free education program. However much this needed to translate to 100% the potential has not yet been reached due to girls missing out of such opportunity because of their inability to afford menstrual products during their period cycles.
SAKI BLOSSOM AND HOPE seeks to change this!
Creating a society where no girl misses school because of inability to afford sanitary pads is our main agenda.
By all way we view it as an unequal playing field when girls miss schooling opportunities yet everyone is expected to compete for the same opportunities.
We DONATE sanitary materials to girls to ensure they stay in school throughout the month even during their period cycles.
Health care
SAKI STRIVES to create awareness for proper hygiene during this period
We also work with various Health Organizations to speak out on productive health issues like Endometriosis which are still neglected yet a lot of girls suffer and hurt from.
All over the continent Mestrual Hygiene and health is a concept that had been neglected leading to many women and girls hurting from the effects.
But now comes SAKI where we strive to make create awareness about these female issues that had been neglected and thought to be normal or abnormal.
we try and educate the community as a whole all genders included that some of these issues need medical attention.
Endometriosis being an example, as normal individuals may perceive it as a normal side effect during Periods it is not and it needs medical check up.
EXTREME PAIN AND HURTING DURING PERIODS SHOULDNT BE TREADED AS NORMAL, MEDICAL ATTENTION SHOULD BE SOUGHT!!!
Awareness
WE EDUCATE communities about the myths, taboos and misinformation that
people have about girls and women during their menstrual period and
normalize menstruation so as to reduce stigma, bullying and discrimination.
Education is not only the key to success but also an important tool to use when creating awareness within communities.
An educated community will be fast in understanding and accepting that Menstruation are normal cycles for women and girls to go through.
Leadership
Majority if not all of our organizations members however young are hardworking individuals having succeeded within their specific areas in life. Most are running big companies, others employed in great positions and some running their own start ups.
This ensures that other young girls can look up to the team and have hope of succeeding in their future endeavors.
THIS IS PERFECT LEADERSHIP.
WE LEAD BY EXAMPLE!!!
Our Presence In Kenya...
